my MSI 280X run about 70-72c @ 100% fan on BF4 online fullHD max out about 1 hours, and run 75c flat after mining with GUIminer for about 5 hours, the fan noise is still acceptable and my case fan (Aerocool Shark) is more loud than the MSI fan, and it can adjust voltage up to 1.3v with afterburner or trixx. Sapphire one is voltage locked and the fan is a bit louder than MSI AFAIK.

Can my graphics card get damaged when litecoin mining? Using Gigabyte AMD R9 270X Windforce 3X Edition, overclocked with stock voltage and 65°C max. I think it's my low-quality-ish power supply that is causing it to crash with the drivers and possible also artefacts.

Might have a problem.

My mobo has only an x16 and an x8 slot.

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8 (PCIEX8)

This a problem with xfire?

wait what you need to run fan at 100% to cool the msi card to 70 C while gaming? Will it shorten the fan life? And i suppose that you also used 100% fan speed to archive 75 C temp in guiminer

biggrin.gif thanks Archea47

TBH that's what drew me to it, same thing with my a30 TT case.. a lot of people didn't like the way that it looked, and for good reason cause on paper seemed like a great idea but RW app. cooling is awful (could have also been because i zip-tied the 920 to the back of that case with xspc bracket and non-reference card) kookoo.gif
my 10in honeywell fixed the mobo overheating issue tonguesmiley.gif

@whom it may concern about whistle.gifbiggrin.gif
100% fan speed 24/7 or even 12/7 (in my experience) will most definitely kill the fan prematurely, i would try pointing a fan at your gpu and find the happy med. of fan speed to not choke it with fresh air + down clocking mem & undervolting on gpu since core is what you want and mem only adds to the heat... [(i take no responsibility)but if you have a voltage locked card like mine you can use VBE7 to under-volt] cryptobager has great guide along side using the hardware wiki
GL, always watch for new whistle.gif, look out for the trolls in the trollboxes, and have fun hashing away

This a problem with xfire?

PCIe 2.0 or 3.0?

If 3.0 then no probs......if 2.0 then you might lose some speed

I've got a quesiton for Gigabyte 280X owners. How loud is it during gaming? I read that it can hit 45 dB, which, especially compared to other brands like the MSI and ASUS, seems pretty loud.
Also, is its voltage unlocked? I read lots of conflicting posts about that.

Thanks! thumb.gif

P.S. Reason I'm asking is cuz I can get the Gigabyte for about the same price as the MSI (which is quieter), but the Gigabyte has BF4 included.

Is it ok to go over 1.3V with a 270x ?
I have got mine to 1.268V but i would like to get more out of it offcourse.

ATM the fastest 270x on 3DM11.

Overvolted 260x coming up next and yes it will surpass an overvolted 7850 biggrin.gif
