Don't know how much difference it makes but the Asic for my 270x is 78.2% and for the 7870 it's 78.8%.

On the 270x Toxic it does really increasy the voltage and not just the numbers.
I couldnt get stable past 1220mhz before (1.219V) and now got 1280mhz stable at 1.268V.

No idea how high i can go though, ill go for 1.3V next time, maybe if possible 1.35V

You Toxic has a CHiL8214 (if memory serves) which is around since HD68XX-era cards, so the RBE7 does it's work properly with this is one, which is super nice. 1280MHz is damn nice. I strungle for 1.2GHz @ stock volts.

Tips to try going higher:

-If your pushing the memory hard, see if there's a tradeoff there (relaxing the memory to get a bit more out of that core).
-If you think you are hovering around that +20% of the default power delivered, edit that BIOS to extend that to 50% and see if that helps.
-Go even colder biggrin.gif

You're right, the difference there is minimal indeed. They both ought to be decent overclockers. Anything bellow 65% is usually rubbish for ambient temperatures, but 70%+ will definitely do smile.gif

Try setting all occurences of EnableULPS in your registry to 0. It solved that probleb for me with my xfired 280x's. I have to do it again every time I reinstall drivers, but afterward I can monitor temps and control the fan on GPU2

The real strange difference between the 2 Devil's is that the 7870 can run at 1275/1450 but the 270x can run at 1230/1590. The memory can go way higher on the 270x and the core can go higher on the 7870 (shrug). If I could increase the volts some I think I could run them both close to 1300/1500 at least for bench's.

I flashed my bios on card #1 using atiwinflash via cmd.

First card was a success.
Second card, I dont know really, it gave me an error at the end: Failed to read ROM, ERROR: 0FL01

But in GPU-Z both cards have the same bios!?

ASIC on #1 is 70%
ASIC on #2 is 64%
