Well, at least i've finally beaten 10k (10,007)
Thats with the Matrix at 1100/1600 scoring = 10634
i5 3570k @ 4.5 GHz scoring = 8510
Time to try and overclock the Matrix, as i'm reasonably new to this, anyone have any important tips?

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7342706?

Edit: The maximum GPU temp was 67 degrees celcius during that last run.

I placed my order for one XFX R9-280X DD. I was trying to hold out with my unlocked 6950 but my wife telling me to buy it, the code for $25 off and the rumor that AMD won't release new GPUs until 2015 made the decision easier. Now to wait at the door for the mail like Scott Pilgrim.

Doesn't an overclocked 7970 get a higher gpu score?

I'm not entirely sure, but all a 280x is, is a re-badged 7970 GHz edition, so if the 7970 was a GHz edition and overclocked, it could easily have a higher score. I'm still in the process of overclocking mine, it gets to 1200 MHz without bios adjustments (I haven't done stability tests, gets through benchmarks though). But the screen starts flashing and making funny lines everywhere when i change the voltage?

So yea, I kinda did my homework on illuminated logos. Hopes this helps tongue.gif
Thanks biggrin.gif
Damn, I should really buy a new case, so toxic would fit in.
I still like matrix the most, but not sure if it is worth the extra money. This is actual offer, which would you pick? (Prices are in €)

If your trying to spend as little as possible, then I would go with the Asus for 238, if you want to get a matrix, keep in mind it takes up 3 slots. If the toxic will fit it could also be a good idea. thumb.gif

Hey, i've got the same card, what voltage is this running at?

Edit: Is 1.4v safe? I'm currently on 1.35v and hitting a max of 73 degrees celcius, and I should just keep it below 80 right? Thats with fans on auto too, not 100%, the max they went to was 40%

I think AMD's new cards don't have much OC headroom. Remember what they did with the Radeon 6970? They pushed it so far that it could hardly be tweaked.

After playing around with mine for a while, I can't get it above 1240 MHz without it flashing during benchmarks (3D Mark 11 and Firestrike).
