Btw, does overclocking a GPU and VDDC cause a increase of heat on the North Bridge? Because when I had the CPU on 4.31GHz and a voltage of 1.4, I almost burn my finger if I touch it more than 3 seconds.

Could you post what your CPU and motherboard are and I might be able to help out? You might be stressing the NB but changing voltage and frequency may help. As much info as possible will help us help you.

What program are you using to change the VDDC with that card?

I use Sapphire TrixXx to change the VDDC, and CCC to change the clocks. (They are synced). I putted my CPU down to 4.12GHz again, cuz the pc didnt boot when I got it to 4.5... It didnt show any display, and when it did, it got stucked on "Entering setup" when i tryed to get into BIOS. The NB heatsink was really really hot.

I had it off for 10min, and then I was able to get into BIOS and decrease CPU FSB and voltage.

GPU card is now stable, but I wanna OC it more.. But does increasing the GPU's VDDC cause heat increasing of the northbridge? Cuz I dont want that.

I have MSI 970A-G43 as MOBO and AMD FX-4300 Black Edition

I don't want to be that guy. But the board isn't very good for overclocking. I had it myself with my second rig. That's the reason your cpu isn't stable at 4.5. Look into a 990FX board. They're reasonable cheap now. Also if you can try and oc with just the multiplier and voltage. I had issues messing with FSB on that board.

Turning down VDDC? I haven't got an idea about that. Though in my experience I've never had an issue of the temps going up. Northbridge that is.

Ok. I'll buy a new motherboard tomorrow, so I can overclock more! biggrin.gif

But OnT.
As stated, My graphic card is only stable at 1140MHz core clock and 1400MHz Mem clock. If I increase the VDDC on tjhe graphic card, will it allow me to overclock it more?

Im buying Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 tomorrow smile.gif

Good choice, solid board.
Yes if you INCREASE VDDC, it might be stable. Sometimes though it's not really worth it as it increases temps. So just be careful. Also stable is used loosely around here. 100 hours stable on benchmarks doesn't mean it's still going to work in games. Just increase is enough so you're happy and slowly raise the voltage. Play some games or w.e. If it crashes then increase it more.

That's a great choice, the Vishera chips don't like the 970 chipset too much. If you need help overclocking that let me know. I have the CHVFZ and the bios and overclocking are about the same.

By the by, I heard the using CCC and another overclocking tool can cause instability due to system info conflicts. Just a thought.

Has anyone tried using paste instead of pads under the VRM heatsink? I'm not 100% sure if mine has pads or not, but I assume so. Could I get better VRM temps by replacing the pads with MX-4? Last night while paying FarCry 3 my VRM temps went up to 85C at some point. Not dangerous I believe, but would like it lower.
