[Official] AMD R9 280X / 280 & 270X / 270 Owners Club - Page 511

Just wondering if anyone can give any insight on the Visiontek R9 280X?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-129-280&turntoflow=activity&turntoxauthtoken=MTMzMDEzMToxNDI4Mjc4MjE4Nzg5OmI4Nzg2NjFkYmMxMGU4YWVmM2I4ZjAzMGIxOWExYjUx&turntosku=N82E16814129280#turntodone

The price is pretty killer considering the warranty and included backplate, but I am having trouble finding any solid info on the card.  The cryptocurrency area of Reddit, doesn't have much nice to say about their cooling ability...but I'm not concerned with running the card 24/7 at 100% load.  The few NewEgg reviews that there are do not fair well stating DOA in the last few months.

Try and OC on it. One at a time remember. CPU first then GPU.

Its installed and going! biggrin.gif 4.3GHz stable atm smile.gif But I dont like that CPU FSB OC my ram aswell..

And I dont like that if I have more than 1120MHz core clock on my gpu (Like, 1020MHz original), i get bluescreen. My VDDC is 1.240. Will increasing VDDC let me OC more? I use Sapphire TrixXx.

Just leave bus speed mate. Just run core clock and voltage.

1: it's just a decent, solid case and has a lot of loop options. Even more if you're willing to cut some of the case.

2: it's a bit older so you might find it cheap somewhere.

3: Dat window.

Ya, the 760T and 750D are the same inside and the lines are sleek and clean on the 750D. It's also cheaper @ about $160. The front is a bit more restricted but with intake at the bottom you should still have enough air flow into the case with some good SP fans. Microcenter has it right now for $140 plus a $10 rebate.

If you overclock using FSB you have to change set the RAM, HT link and CPU/NB frequency again because all of these will change. Just set the FSB and then reset your other values afterwords.

Ok, what clocks are you trying to run? By itself I can run mine at 1235/1575 without issue but I run everyday clocks at 1200/1400 with my 7870 and when I feel like ramping it up I go to 1250/1450. I have run them together as high as 1260/1475 but it's pushing the crossfire setup because the 7870 has some voltage adjustment to 1.3 in AB on the core and the 270x does not. I can push the 270x way further on the memory though. I keep the 7870 on top because it allows me to stretch the core clocks out a bit more with less stress on the 270x and I keep the memory clocks down because there is not much performance increase past 1475 anyway.

I think MSI is about to send me back the defective 280x I sent in. The RMA now shows NTF, which seems to mean No Trouble Found. I got a bad feeling.

Are you using Afterburner and if you are is the graphics overdrive disabled in CCC. Powercolors clocking tool is not really that good, I only use afterburner and turn off AMD graphics overdrive because they conflict.
