I have a R9 280X XFX Black edition the dilemma I'm having is that I have 2 dvi-d monitors and a tv that I want to hook up to the graphics card. Apparently in order to hook the TV into this setup as well I need an active HDMI-> Displayport adapter, but the one I bought didn't work so I guess it wasn't an "active" adpater. So I'd be forever grateful if a kind soul here could link me to a working active hdmi->displayport adapter that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Preferably a shop from an EU-country so I don't have to pay taxes. But at the very least they should ship to Finland. Thanks in advance!

Ok an update, I played COD: Ghost a while ago with only 1 stick of ram installed at slot no.2 of my Motherboard. I did not adjust the fan speed and just leave it to auto. Again another crash / BSOD.

0xa0000001 bug check code Atikmdag.sys I'm using 13.12, Newly installed OS.

I will try the other one and see what will happen. Again I leave the gpu settings to auto.

2nd attempt: Ram stick no. 2 on slot no. 2 of the motherboard, I've played a little longer than the first attempt, no BSOD but the game crash with the "Display Driver stopped responding and has recovered" message appeared on system tray. Again no adjustments made on the settings of the GPU, all set by auto / default and did not increase the fan speed settings either, I just leave it to auto.

3rd attempt will be installing the 1st ram on slot no. 1 (the slot nearest to the processor), No adjustments will be done just default settings of the GPU.

Hello all. I recently got a new build, So I no longer have a 270x. I would like to update it to an XFX 280x Black Edition @1150mhz core, and 1600MHz memory.

Other Specs: Corsair Obsidian 750d
ASrock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition @4.7GHz
XFX R9 280x Black Edition
8gb AMD Radeon Entertainment Series DDR3 Ram
Corsair H100i
Crucial M4 64gb SSD
WD Blue 500gb HDD

What do you guys think of this build? I would appreciate feedback. Thank you!

Looks like a fine build and a damn decent overclock on the cpu. My only problem is the hard drive is too small. I've gotta say at one point my 1tb was 700gb of games. Maybe you don't have that problem yet, but eventually it happens.

Good rig, I enjoyed my time with the 8350, how cool is the cpu? Cos at 4.7-5.1ghz i had to put it under custom loop as my h100 wasn't good enough.

Please, can the owners of non-refference 280X from Powercolor, HIS, Club3D and new Sapphire Tri-X Vapor-X post their VRM temps?
I have worse cooled case.
Would be very appreciated.

It's doing just fine. While playing BF4 it gets 40-50c. Right now idling it's at 18c.

Ah, okay good plan. I will look into a bigger drive
