[Official] AMD R9 280X / 280 & 270X / 270 Owners Club - Page 546

Is it just a few manufacturers with the issue or spread accross all R9 270(x)/280(x) cards?
Or then again just luck of the draw? I've seen a few people with Toxics have the issue as well.
So far my Gigabyte R9 280x hasn't shown any of the above issues.

From what i've read there's something wrong with the memory timings on some of the cards, not all of them, which causes the cards to artifact. Every brand has 270(x)/280x cards out there which are faulty.

Just wondering does anyone have any issues with your card? I'm working as a PC technician and selling PC hardware, currently many of my customers have RMA their 270X and 280X (both by ASUS) because of the strange artifacts, tearing, green boxes and lines on the screen while gaming, even watching movie in 1080p.
Wanna have some feedback from Asus owners, I wonder the last batch we received were actually a bad one?

I have an R9270-DC2OC. This is the 2nd one now...I RMA'd the first one, but they both have the same problem. Problem though isn't artifacting, it's the cooler sucks balls, and the TDP is set too low. Both would throttle even at stock if I didn't increase the power limit...and when benchmarking/under load (with the power limit set higher so it doesn't throttle, but everything else at stock) the temp just keeps climbing over 90ºC until I manually shut it down.

I haven't bothered to RMA this one because it seems they are all just manufactured this way and the cooler sucks, and I'd just end up in a never-ending RMA feedback loop. Bought it for a 24/7 mining card so I just undervolted the crap out of it and that keeps the temps in line. For anyone using it as a normal graphics card though, unless you plan on watercooling, stay away. And even if you do plan on watercooling, get something better than a 270 biggrin.gif

Yeah, I know and tried that version before. But the problem is there there. Thank you by the way =)

Does anyone have a Gelid Icy Vision-a aftermarket VGA cooler on their card? If so, how is the performance?

My 270X Vapor-X @ 1300/1500mhz with an FX-8350 @ 4.7

Now that I have a Haswell instead of a FX-8350, with PCI-E 3.0 and high single thread, I could do even better if I took that card out of my sister's computer and put it in my rig.
