Just out of interest, is there any way to lower the idle fan speed? I tried turning it down in afterburner and CCC however it seems to stay at a minimum of 20%.

The DC2 cooler is currently the noisiest thing in my case atm redface.gif

is this the new one ( with the grey in middle of card) or the old.
Also how are your vrm temps.
I just updated the bios to 15.042. It helped slightly but vrms are still high
Vrm1 being 66-70
Vrm2 being the the same

Hi guys, I had built an all AMD rig few months ago. FX 8320 @ 3.7 GHz, 16GB 1833 GHz GSkill RipjawsX RAM, ASUS M5A97 R2.0 and XFX R9 280X @ 1.1 GHz with Corsair TX750 PSU.

I've run the Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark and it's giving me 795 score with 31.2 fps. I feel this is low compared to the benchmarks I've seen for other R9 280X cards. Also I get fps of 25-40 on High, 4x MSAA @ 1080p (DX11) in BF4, Mantle gives me 55-75 fps, no Vsync on both. And here's the funny thing, on Medium settings in Watch_Dogs, I get 15-20 fps and while driving it goes down to 10.

I'm on 14.6 and Win 8.1 64-bit. I've always felt like I wasn't getting the performance I expected from this rig. I had one stick of 8 GB RAM, bought another to make it dual-channel. And now, I've read that FX 8320 isn't a good CPU. I had the choice of buying Intel Core i5 4670, but being an AMD guy for 10 years, I stuck to it. frown.gif

So, has my GPU gone mental? Or is it the CPU? Or is everything fine?

That seems really low considering on ultra 1080p bf4 I get 50 to 60 with a 270x 4gb. With an i5 4440 and 12 gb of ram
