Does anybody know if the Sapphire Vapor-x 280x is voltage unlocked?
I don't think you'll need unlocked vapor-x if you'll stay with the cooler.... all vapor-x line have voltage at 1.256 it's a bit high to air cooling

anyway 7970 vapor-x was unlocked. so I guess it's unlocked to. BUT vapor-x need trixxx utility to change voltage

Just ordered 2x MSI 280x.

This is my first AMD card.

Few questions:

1. What FPS can I expect in BF3 everything on ultra @ 1440? (crossfire)
100+ on single player with 2xmsaa, multi is more CPU dependant.
2. I heard CF doesnt work in fullscreen windowed mode, is this true?
Yes
3. what version of MSI after burner should I be using? the latest beta?
Yes
4. What is the avg overclock on those cards? 1150-1200 / 7000 ?
1175/1650 for me even with trifire on air. I just got my blocks, going to OC tomorrow. Even at those clocks, it overheats like a mofo
5. should I flash the card with new bios only if I'm having heat issues? the bios provided by techpowerup works with all MSI 280x cards? What software do I use to flash the bios?
ATIWINFLASH
6. Should I be worried with corsair 750 watt PSU? do i need to upgrade?
NOPE, depends on what model, if it's high efficiency PSU it shouldn't matter, since I was runing 17 fans+ x79 platform and 280x trifire all on HX1000 for few days and it was stable.

My 280x Vapor-X is voltage locked. The voltage doesn't change with afterburner nor sapphire trixx. Also the temps are crazy high and the thing is loud as hell under load.

Have to say, custom loop makes it really low. I don't think these cards are hot at all in general, comparing these to 580gtx I had. Coolers are piece of garbage. They hit about 43C about at 30min mark. 30 idle, MSI model FYI. Going to OC and run firestrike tomorrow. But downloading batman right now
