Weird, I'll have to look into this more, as soon as I go over 1550 it just doesn't agree, I'm sure VRAM OC doesn't do much at all in terms of performance in games but it would be nice to be able to do it for bragging rights tongue.gif

Also that's a good OC, I get around 1150 stock but over that it required a little more volts.

Every time i reboot I load the profile and click apply. It wont work otherwise.

How did you fix this issue?

I had an MSI and ASUS with the MSI on top. A few months ago the ASUS died so I was just limping along on one card until I got this 280X, which appears to be as good or better than the X2 6970s.

I never did fix the problem. I did try Radeon Pro which works great for new games.

1. Cant OC using afterburner, asus gpu tweak or trixx. Everytime I restart my computer and test it out the clock goes back to stock even though afterburner is showing it as overclocked, the monitoring and gpu z is shpwing it as running at 1020 (stock).
The only program that keeps the overclock settings after restart is AMD overdrive.

2. with both coolers on 70% 1 card runs at 80c under load and another 70c

3. cant OC voltage either

4. max stable OC i was able to get is 1135/1650

I got 30 days on my refund.

Going to wait for non ref 290x or 780ti

For Voltage adjustment, there are workarounds. Fellow member who was PMing me successfully hit 1200+ core on his MSI with some patience and work. I barely helped him.

For my OC, I hit 1150 1700 at stock voltage, i'm going to play around with it possibly next week when I have more time. Considering that they only hit 43C on WC with full load, I think problem is with the air coolers for temperature, load temps are way lower than 580GTXs I had.

You basically have two massive heaters blowing hot air in a limited space so either crank up the fans to 100% with some fresh air flow to the area, or you are going to get massive heat build up in a specific area.

So got my Asus 280x and everything works perfectly while gaming. Only issue I'm having is when it is downclocked I get some weird horizontal flickering while browsing or watching videos. Not sure if its a 120hz monitor problem, Windows 8.1 driver issue, or a defective card yet. It happens randomly maybe once every 5-10 minutes so not sure if its the 120hz issue that the 7970's had, but it does look exactly the same.

Hi guys,

I have a quick question for you guys with the R9 280X card. I am wanting to get the ASUS direct cu2 card and wondering if it has a UEFI compliant bios so I can get fast boot/secure boot running etc.

Hey, just wanted to tell you that i installed my Sapphire 280x Vapor x today. Msi afterburner and Trixx let me change the voltage slider. Does that mean that the card is voltage unlocked?

Do you have the fully unlocked MSI ab? If you do, you can have a go at it and see if the voltage does change.

GPUz will also show voltage as well.

Because I was able to use the slider in MSI Afterburner but my voltage never changed. Thankfully iTurbo works on my card though

Turn off Override in catalyst. That should help with interference.
