Well, try what I said. When I did it I needed a lot of thermal paste or temps would be higher.

After 2 months and going thru worst RMA finally got a replacement 380X

Sapphire and distributor doesn't wana do anything, none of them even cared just because my 280X manufacturer warranty is finished. Then after some heat from people in forum and facebook only a guy from AMD step up and solve for me.

Long warranty is great but once EOL they could treat us like trash. No more sapphire card for me after this.

Similar for my 280x and ASUS, care to PM any connections to someone who could help step on it?
Unfortunately can't even RMA with ASUS directly so getting the RMA case info is almost impossible via the shop where I have to apply RMA frown.gif
Otherwise I have one guy from ASUS Taiwan that could elevate the priority of the RMA case if only I could get the case number and info from the shop if they even have it themselves from ASUS service center.

First RMA total time 45 days, they sent me a physically damaged practically DOA card back. Now in 2nd RMA since then. About 2 months total without GPU and nowhere near any resolution.

They really don't expect RMAs when product is EOL and do not want to give you an upgrade as a replacement nor money back automatically. They try to take forever and find a replacement card somewhere in a trash bin, which means you're most likely gonna send it back to RMA again, and again, and again, ...

Bad RMA is like freaking disease spreading everywhere, waste of time dealing with such crap.

Not only that, the guy even show photo to me that my card is damaged, a small cap(i think) near pcie connector got torn off..i send in a artifact card not physical damaged card as i never dropped the card or knocked it into anything..at least the guy didnt blame me for that or he couldnt put me on it because of the bad situation the useless distributor and sapphire put me into. But i learn my lesson, must take photos before sending in for evidence. Never know what will come out.

I'm from malaysia though, don't have use i give you the contact..very sorry and i hope asus sort it for you properly. When i get the card time for me to sell it away, i dont wana have any sapphire in my pc anymore.

Yeah I wanted to RMA and resell a working card with new longer warranty or get money back. I would have gotten money back from the shop if only I had a document that shows I bought the card from the shop for a specified sum, but I only have a document with warranty info for the card and not the sum so the shop refused to pay me when the RMA took longer than 30 days which is what would happen if I had the right document, it's just silly right? Like they can't look it up in their system and check the price paid and pay me that back. So I'm stuck with relying on ASUS to resolve the RMA.

I've just sent as much info as I can to the admin on asus forum so he can put ASUS Taiwan to check the RMA... and hopefully slap someone along the RMA process line.

Similar here, I send in artifacting card, they send me back physically damaged card. I don't know what these companies are doing with the cards but they must have some true cheap workers that throw the cards around like bowling balls.

I always take pictures when I report the RMA and when I receive a product from RMA, even the box it arrives in.
I've asked the ASUS person what options there are if I can request via the shop and upgrade or money back etc. but no reply to that.

Maybe they will try communicating with me directly now that I gave them as much info as I can so the 280x EOL RMA can be resolved.

As always they only will notice when you start reporting issues on forums and other social media and get attention of their personnel that way, at least they check their own forum. It's a shame as RMAs should be treated equal and one shouldn't need to bring in media to get a satisfactory outcome from the RMA.

Hey guys, anyone know why my r9 280x never reaches boost clocks? PowerColor says the core clock is 880 MHz, then boosts to 1030 MHz. I ran Unigine Valley, and the core clock never went past 880 MHz.
I've OC'ed my processor a couple of years ago, and now I'm trying to OC my GPU. I haven't done anything to my GPU clocks yet, just wanted to see my stock performance in Unigine Valley.

I use Afterburner and HWiNFO64 to monitor my GPU stats. I used Unigine Valley in Extreme HD setting to stress test.

Or is that really how it's supposed to be? Thanks. +rep

Edit: Fixed it. smile.gif

1080 if someone donates it why not.

Prices still hiked up due to shortages, newness, stocks of old cards in shops, ...
There's sources that say the Strix 480 has 2 PCIE connectors, but 6+6 wouldn't make sense as it's 150w total where it'd be 225w with 8+6. I'm sold on the Strix if it's 8+6 with great cooling ...looking at you 290/x and 390/x. I'm just waiting for the perfect 480 to replace my 270X.
