The 360 also doesn't play HD DVD's out of the box.

The PS3 is a good price. Look what's in it. A blu-ray player alone is around one grand. The PS3 does that and more for only $600.
All I am saying is fanboyism runs rampant here. You act like you gave birth to the PS3. Yeah I have a 360. I used to have a ps2 and gamecube. I was all set for the ps3 until I found out it was $600. I was like F that especially once I found out that the horsepower between the 360 and PS3 was close. F'in close... for $600 that biatch better have a better GPU and Proc not a stupid BD drive. This life cycle I will have a 360 and Wii. I will get a PS3 eventually (like in 2 years when there $199 LOLZ)

Now what do you want me to say after that? No $h!+ I'm backing up the PS3. I am a Sony and Nintendo fanboy. There's nothing wrong with that. Loosen up everyone.

First off, you can be a fanboy if you want to. That's your choice. But when you post ignorant, insulting and downright wrong comments, you only look like a fool.

Basically every major technology related site as well as wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3

It has been confirmed (image) that initial PS3 units include the CPU/rasterizer combination chip used in slim PS2 (EE+GS) to achieve backward compatibility.

Umm...normal everyday people write wiki's. How can you trust them.

I believe that picture and your statement with the PS2 stuff. It has to play PS2 stuff somehow, why not put some PS2 stuff in the PS3. Makes sense. It's sure as hell more backwards compatible than the 360.

Blu-ray and HD DVD player should not be the basis on buying or argument for the systems cause several companies are coming out with a player that would run blu-ray and HD DVD next year.

Last time I checked, normal everday people can still have information and knowledge. Regardless, everything I say, I say for a reason. I don't just look on wikipedia, automatically believe it and then commence talking out of my rear. I research things on other legitimate sites, something you seem to fail to do other than checking out the website of the company whose product we are discussing. Can you say "bias" or "buzz words"?

No one is arguing percentage of games that are backwards compatible. The 360 list is just about 30% of original XBOX games while the PS3 is considerably larger. But the 360 also doesn't have an original XBOX inside the case, which also helps in end cost to the consumer.

whats wrong with it is that it shows your ignorance and blindness to branding non of your points yet have been valid.. as far as your blueray crap you were forced to buy it xbox game its customer a choice if they wanted to add hd-dvd to their system and keeped cost down by the way you do know that hd-dvd does have better quality then blue ray right.. probably not you also know that most of the games that sony was counting on for that pretty sh***y 3 of yours is now also going to be on the 360.. and that 98 percent of the cases will look better on the 360 .. oh and just to smack your little ps3 down another notch .. sony doesnt have Xbox live..

as for the wii out selling the ps3 thats cool.. its probably out selling the 360 as well

Like what companies?

I like sony's idea with blu-ray. HD-DVD, is just a better version of a DVD. I have faith in blu-ray. There's more blu-ray movies out today than there is HD-DVD. The only HD DVD I know of is king kong. Blu-ray has more studio support hands down.
