Mkv movies on pc

Hey guys i watch blur ray movies on my pc (ripped to mkv) and I'm hopping some one can answer me this question why can a standard blue ray player play blu rays so easy but my 1300$ dell computer can't play it smoothly?

Like I built a 2500$ gaming pc and it's a beast and it finally can play Blu-ray ripped mkvs easily (30-40gig rips)

From my experience a fast ssd and a good CPU allows good mkv playback

Ya my new pc has everything ssd, overclocked and a great graphics card I just don't understand why a blu ray play could outperform my old 1300$ dell.

A decent GPU with a DXVA supported codec / player helps loads. I Use LAV Filters with DXVA support in media portal on my HTPC and Media Player Classic on my gaming machine. They usually play very well.

what player are you using?
I dont think he has a problem playing on his pc, he's just asking why he needs such a powerful pc when a blue ray player is significantly weaker and plays the same file. I'd maybe thats like comparing a console and a pc?

A 3770 and 7770 can run 8 1080p mkv movies at once. You should have no issue there.

Which program are you using for playback?
