Hello. Sorry for the long post! I am running a 2008 alienware m17-r1 laptop with crossfired ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 cards in it. I have been having trouble with frame rates in video games such as WoW and Diablo 3. A friend of mine was looking over my PC via teamviewer and found a process running in my background called Atieclxx.exe, It says that it is a AMD External Events Client Module. But currently it is taking ou 800k resources and just sitting here idol it is using 50% of my CPU. So i canceled this process and my frame rate with up by like 20-30 frames. But my problem here is that when i try to log into a game that is fullscreen it will kinda freeze my PC. Im not exactly sure what it does because i have been on skype with friends and they can still hear me no problem but my screen is frozen. And i have to restart. Is there anything i can do? Or what is going on? Please help me =/

Try googling the process and see what it does. When is the last time you reinstalled the operating system by the way? I usually get a lot of weird errors related to processes if i don'r reinstall often.

To be honest i have no clue when it was last reformated. I should probably just do it and upgrade to windows 7. I googled the process and some were calling it a virus but some were calling it good. It confused me alot. But im sure a reinstall of windows should fix it. I just didnt wanna go through the hassle of it haha.

Fair warning, win 7 uses more memory than XP, just saying.

Any file can piggyback a virus so that explains the posts you read. But that is a file essential for your pooter to run properly. (Yes I'm bringing the word pooter in style). smile.gif
