Installing on new 250gb Sata HDD

Hey people..

Im brand new here, looking for some wise people and a active forum to aid me with my new Hdd..

Here is the deal my old sata hdd (120gb) went down over night, turned my PC off and the next day it kept rebooting after the windows load screen. I found a Boot sector error and a MBR error. But gave up on fixing it and today i bought a new Sata 250gb harddisk. I removed my old hdd and booted from my win XP cd. when i got to the point where the windows setup (blue screen) is complete and i hit enter to install win xp. It tells my that it didnt find any HDD. I can see it in my BIOS, but couldnt set it up.

So i found a new Sata-raid driver for a floppy and pressed F6 while the setup is running. I put in the floppy and i get an txtsetup.oem (512) line 1742 error.

I´ve have kinda run out of ideas after i´ve been working on it for 2 days now with no luck... so if anyone have an idea plz speak up..

thx alot

eyeque--

Btw: my box info is: Asrock 7750 duel 880 pro, Intel 2.8GB prosessor, 1024 DDR ram, 250Gb sata hdd (One i need win xp on) G-force 6600 pro..

After you have connected the SATA HDD make sure that you are using either Legacy power or SATA power connector but NOT both. After you have confirmed this go ahead and reset your CMOS By removing the little battery from your motherboard for 2 mins and put it back in and boot back into setup.

Have tired both connectors now, SATA and Lagacy, also took the battery out of my motherboard for like 5mins, put et back in. Made sure BIOS was set to run RAID, booted from Win xp CD, pressed F6 to install driver, then s to select driver from floppy, put in the floppy and got the txtsetup.oem line 1742 in d:\\xpclient\\base\\setup\\oemdisk.c. error again..

so im still not able to install XP on it..
