Well, I will admit AMD fans are more obnoxious that Intel or NVIDIA fans. The main reason for this is that a ton of Intel users are there because intel's 22nm (and even 32nm) is fundamentally superior to Global Foundries (or TSMC) and at the same time many fans of AMD also restrict themselves from NVIDIA and go full-on AMD+AMD GPU.
Hence, it is more likely to find reasonable people in Intel and NVIDIA usage (without that meaning they don't also have fans, but they are fewer in density in the big crowd), and AMD (mainly for CPUs, but also in some extend for GPUs) seem to collect the more fanatical tendencies, that offer less quality arguments, and those are usually the ones needing counterarguments.
Of course, monopolies or duopolies are never healthy, but sometimes it might be best to be explicit that, for example, Intel has destroyed TSMC or GF in technology to the point of extremity. It might even make some good, mobilizing some forces to see that problem and promote more competition, but competition with merits (actual good technology), not lies (pretending TSMC or GF are good, when they are 2 or more years behind Intel). And, AMD aren't saints either on that, AMD and Intel and NVIDIA are all involved in pseudo-duopolies (Intel/AMD CPU patents, AMD/NV GPU patents) or pseudo-monopolies (Intel in CPUs), even if the american government seems to promote it (e.g. look at Obamas attack on Samsung recently).Edited by fateswarm - 10/17/13 at 1:34am
