America is the largest audience of AAA FPS games and they probably aren't as interested in a badass SAS officer being the hero.
yes unfortunately some americans dont realize there are other countries or continents besides america.

It's more of an endemic mentality problem/political propaganda, not so much about making themselves the heroes.
I dont think it has much to do with the country telling the companies " hey you have to make the hero an american or you cant make the game" i think its more of the companies making the hero an american because the audience will relate more to it since im guessing their main target audience is american gamers.
Me being an american whos parents are right from spain, i wouldnt mind a Spaniard hero
