What are the lights on the bottom of my 7870 hawk?

Thread Starter
I got a MSI 7870 Hawk from someone here on OCN. Was having some troubles with it initially. Was getting horizontal lines while playing CS:GO and getting temp spikes up to 76 degrees in both cs:go and msi kombuster. I noticed that there were 2 lights on the bottom towards the front that are always on, then theres another set of 8 lights towards the back. 2 of them are always on and during load at the time there were another 2 lightly flashing on and off. While the other 4 were off.

So anyways I managed to fix the problem in CS:GO i think by enabling vsync (i changed all settings to highest and turned vsync on). Then all of a sudden my temps never exceeded 59 degrees in cs:go. I noticed all 8 lights are on and also noticed while running msi kombuster that i get only 59 degrees aswell. Now i even overclocked it up to 1200 clock 1350 mem clock and still never exceeded 60 degrees.

was there possibly a problem with the gpu reactor? Do the lights indicate some sort of issues? I am worried to overclock it and have that problem randomly happen again and get some unsafe temp spikes. I just looked at it now and when its idling theres only 2 of the 8 lights on. So the other lights seem to only come on during loads?

Anyone have any idea what they are and why they come on? Or how I would suddenly be running great after fixing cs:go settings?

The blue lights next to / on the gpu reactor are just to look cool afaik

The lights on the back of the card may indicate VRM load

Try running an intensive game and see if all the lights light up
