Overclocking FX-8320 on 970a-G46 motherboard.

Hi all, back again. And another overclocking novice question.

After my first attempts at overclocking just by upping the multiplier i've reached a stable 4.2Ghz.

I'm almost certain i can go higher by fiddling with the voltage. I've gone to 4.4Ghz and when i stress test core 5 fails instantly. I'm assuming its because i'm still only running on stock voltage.

I've tried manually changed the CPU voltage to ~1.4 V in the BIOS but it doesn't seem to change when i reboot.

Could people look at my settings and give some advice.

Although i understand that the motherboard is not very good and apparently you can burn the vcore out very quickly.

Actually. Me being a dick. Core temp doesn't read the change. Loaded up CPUz and it shows it.

You really shouldn't need 1.4V usually to get 4.4ghz. I had to bump up to 1.48V to get 4.8Ghz If you are happy with 4.4Ghz then stress test make sure it passes 30mins-1hr and see if you can drop the voltage until you are still stable at at the 4.4Ghz clock, It will help your temps out greatly.

Hi

I just upgraded to this board from an 870a-g54(FX) with an FX6300 and I am not getting beyond 4.3. using stock volts and just the multiplier. I have a Xigmatek Aegir cooler with 2x120mm fans in push/pull arrangement and if I go 4.4 and up the voltage at all the PC freezes, requiring a re-boot.
