Trying to downgrade a 680 to a 670 through bios (HELP)

Thread Starter
I had a pair of 670s DCUII and i had to RMA the one after a few months. Problem is they didnt have a 670 available, so instead they gave me a 680. Now, as it is, it's kind of useless to me, as i want to sli.
So i tried downgrading the 680 though bios, and i flashed the 670TOP bios over it's original one, using NVflasher. The problem is that while all the values have been set to those of the 670top, the card is still recognised as a 680 on my system.
Anyone know what i have to do?

The problem is that at this point with 7 series out i dont think i can sell it even for the price of a new 670.. Plus, i consider it a fun challenge to at least try first

Have you talked to Asus about this? I would tell them that you had 2 670"s in sli and they sent you a 680 back ( from the 670 rma). Maybe they will work a deal with you to trade your other 670 for a 680? If they won't the only thing is to sell they 670 for a 680.

That'll be a bit difficult here (greece) but a friend of mine has 670DC2, so i'll give him the 680..
Still if anyone has any idea of how i could do this (bios downgrade), i'd still be interested - pure quriosity -

There are hacked drivers that will let you SLI a 670, and 680.  Check here.  Only problem is it hasn't been updated in a while.  Might be fun to try though.

Yes, i've seen them and i didnt like exactly the fact that they are that old. they are ok for know, but soon they'll be obsolete. Didn't have time to try them today, but maybe will tommorow
