anyone using android 4.3 if so i got a ?

Anyone using android 4.3 if so I was wondering if you could answer my question.

When you receive a text message and it comes in you can view it in the drop down tool menu from the top of the screen. So you can see the text and under it says "reply read call". Well when I push read nothing happens. Does that mean I have read the text or should that open it so I can read it? I can read it if I click the text box itself. I'm just unsure what the "read" mean.

The "Read" button in Android is similar to the email client equivalent where it labels messages as 'read.' It can be seen as a simpler and/or quicker method to indicate to the OS that you read that message without having to go into the text message application and open that thread to change the status of the message. With the "Read" button, you can simply pull down the notification window, read the message in the notification window, press "Read" and shut off your phone's screen (or continue doing what you were before).

Unfortunately, some text messages are too long for the notification window so you will have to go into the message application to completely read the entire thing. To be sent to the entire message, you just click on the text of the message itself.

For me it just marks it as read. I have to click on the text box to open it.
