7990 Price Drops with r9 290x release?

Thread Starter
Looking at the specs ive seen of the 290x and the planed price, it seems its going to run around $600-700 and perform like 25% over a titan going by the released specs ive found. I am still looking at a 7990 still since it seems its going to be still a fair bit faster in most things for my first card on the red side. I plan on playing Bf4 and eve online with it on 3 monitor 5760x1080 EyeFinity. They run around $600 right now, and come with 8 free games, new modern games id like to play anyways.

So my question is, i am going to be ordering some upgrades in the next few days from newegg, was wondering if it would be worth my time and money to wait to see what the 7990 prices do once r9's hit the market, or do you think the current prices and those 8 free games is about is low as i can get? If the price is gonna drop around $50 i might as well order one today or something lol.

EDIT: I just noticed newegg has done a price drop already, $600 for most of the cards, MSI model down to $550

OP i would suggest you wait till oct 15th and check out R9 290 / R9 290X reviews. an overclocked R9 290X could get very close to HD 7990. R9 290X being a single GPU will provide the most consistent performance (not dependent on CF scaling which varies from game to game) and a much smoother gaming experience due to better frametime consistency.
