jalapeno,

I'm coops and I'm new to OCN, despite being a reader for many years, I am now registered and am starting to contribute as well as seeking guidance from my peers for OCing and water-cooling.

I have a decent setup because I work from home in Germany, so I have built my own small business setup which I enjoy settling into each day. Photo below.

I have learned overclocking fairly well. Pushing an old 930 to it's limits for practicing. I now wish to try water-cooling for the first time as I have exhausted air to the point of normal limitations.

There is plenty of cool hardware available to me (you can checkout my current build using the link in my signature), however I am going to build completely new rig (except for monitors) and document it here on OCN using the Intel Build Logs section.

The new build will contain:

- 3x30" Dell 2560x1600 equaling total res of 7680x1600

This is where the build is interesting. Not many people have such a big resolution and this really pushes the boundaries of what current gfx are capable of delivering.

- Caselabs M10 Black / and possibly white outer panels.

- EVGA 1000w Platnium P2. (As recommended by expert OCN member).

- Intel 4930K

- Asus P9X79-E WS

- 3xTitans Water or next gen Nvidia. Until then 2x 680 4Gb EVGA

- RAM - To be discussed and decided. 32gb to 64gb.

- 2x Samsung Pro 256Gb Raid0 (All data is network attached). I also want to learn about using SSD for Cache. (Without mechanical being involved. Can I have 3 SSDs and use one for Cache?).

Update:

I will be installing an Areca (ARC) 1822IX Pro Raid Controller with 4Gb RAM Upgrade.

Then adding an array of Samsung Pro SSDs for maximum sequential of 4.5Gb/s. BOOM.

- Possibly the PCIe Revo drive 100GB could be used as the cache? As I currently have that available for use.

- Watercooling. To be decided. Koolance blocks, pumps and res to be researched.

I am going to Silence over Performance.

I need a quiet computer for the audio recording I do, hence putting together a powerful machine in spec, but then I will not OC this build to hopefully achieve very quiet operation.

This means I need to research quiet pumps and fans and learn about other possible noisy components of water cooling.

Yes this is almost SIX 1080p Screens in terms of pixels.

1x 1920x1080p screens would equal: 2,073,600p.

3x 2560x1600p screens would equal: 12,288,000p

Nice to meet you,

/Coops

sup coops. that is quite workstation u have planning. if you're going for 3 titans, id strongly suggest you get at least a 1200w psu to be on the safe side. even though you won't be overclocking your components, the 4930k and titans are still power hungry even at stock. can't answer your questions about ssd and cache, but there are dedicated subforums on which u may find your answer. as for watercooling, click on the link in my signature as there are a lot of helpful folks there who would be more than happy to help u in that regard.

Thanks Killa Cam, will checkout water cooling club.

I am going 1000w for now, as I won't be throwing in new GFX for a while. I'll be using my own GTX 680s SLI until I learn what Nvidia's next move is.

7680x1600 kills even 4x titans.

;(
