Looking for help on a monitor

Thread Starter
I posted a thread a while back, but i figured I would start a new one.

I've got an Alienware m18x-R2 with Crossfire 7970m GPUs. The laptop has DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA outputs only. So this removes any of the Korean models, due to only having a Dual Link DVI port. The ones with the additional ports are too expensive as well. As fast as this laptop is, I don't forsee being able to run games at 1440p in the future at high settings with playable framerates.

I am looking for a 24-27" 1080p Monitor (prefer 27"). I'm trying to keep the cost around $300. Id love to get one of the Asus VG or the BenQ XL series monitors but I just can't justify the cost, nor do I think my current rig will benefit from 120/144 hz technology.

I have already purchased, but not setup a 27" LG 27EA63V-P which has an HDMI and VGA Port Seems like a quality monitor, I paid $300 for it.

I have come across a thread on the AVS Forums discussing a LG 32LN5300 series HDTV that seems to work really well for gaming, higher input lag but is managed with some features the TV has. I know its 32" but it seems like an awesome option. Again it has HDMI. Best Buy has it for $270

I have also been looking at the Asus VS278Q-P. My buddy bought one and is pretty happy with it, other than it took him a bit to get used to because he sits sort of close for the size. But it has the Displayport input and HDMI, which would be nice so I can have 2 laptops hooked up to it at once.

Are there any other options I should be looking at in this price range. I was recommended a 27" planar in another thread, and a lower end version the LG I have purchased in another thread, the price discount isnt their for the LG and the Planar doesn't seem worthwhile for the price.

Thanks!

That 32" Samsung is definitely one of the best TVs, together with the W6 from Sony, for gaming. Their low input lag and support for 4:4:4 chroma make both of 'em perfect for PC and console use. If you sit at about 40-50cm form the screen and your desk is large enough, then I'd definitely suggest going for one of those 32".

I've tried that same LG (the 23" one to be completely honest) and it wobbles way too much for my likings. Not to mention the awful IPS glow.

So I bought the LG 32LN5300, its a great tv to use as a monitor. I worked on it all day today and played some BF4 on it. Its got some cool capabilities, read up over on the AVS forums, But the monitor is just a bit to big for my desk space so I have decided to get a 27" monitor. I am having a hard time justifying the cost of some of them. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this Korean 1440p monitor and the vendor selling it:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/QNIX-QX2710-LED-Evolution-ll-DPort-Matte-27-2560x1440-PLS-QHD-DP-PC-Monitor-/130933197737?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item1e7c3a0ba9

I need a monitor with Displayport to be able to utilize the 1440p resolution, and be able to use it with my M18x and my Work laptop.

otherwise I have been looking the following 1080P 27" monitors:

Asus VS278Q-P - $240 AR

Asus VN279Q - $299

I have also been looking at the 24" BenQ XL2420TE But its smaller than I would like, just seems like a high quality monitor

Any input?
