Why would my laptop start up to user/password screen?

I was installing the optional update and it restarted to a log in screen asking for a user name and password. I don't have one so I hit enter and I get rejected. confused.gif So I shut down and a cold restart took me to the straight to desktop. biggrin.gif

1: Why would it do this?

2: In case it wants to do it more and restarting doesn't do the trick, what else should I try?

Go to power options and see if "require password on wakeup" is set to yes, if so change to no.
