I also noticed something, my voltage for my vcore isn't stable, (cpuz readings) it goes from 2.354, 2.600, to 2.616, what's the deal, my OCZ 700 watt should be able to handle everything correctly, right?

Jacob
Well that was my experience and yes that would make your RAM slower but if the CPU gain improves the overall system performance even at the cost of a memory drop then i guess it can be worth it. Just run games benchmarks/3dmark to see what settings gives you the better score.

In fact that's why i switched to DFI, i really enjoyed the A8V it's a great board but it couldn't feed my overclocking belly.
What did you set your vCore at in the bios ? Do you have the latest version of CPU-Z ?

haha, I messed up, I ment 1.345, 1.600, 1.616, not 2 volts, sorry, I didn't proofread. Yeah, the voltage isn't steady, it goes between those voltages. Ok I understand the DDR 400 thing, thanks for clearing it up for me, what do I need to set the RAM at? to get a good overclock, I also plan to overclock the RAM too.

Shack, yes I would love to have a lanparty board, the board does what is suppose to do, but it isn't made for extreme overclocking.

I will try lowering the RAM speed later, right now it is cleaning room time.

Jacob

NEVER MIND guys, the via chipset is what is holding me back, guess it's DFI for me, darn if only my grandpa would trade mobo's and video cards with me!

This is his http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l...55&modelmenu=1 Along with his geforce 6800 exetreme

Well guys, it's nothing but bad news, I tried to play HALO at 2.5ghz, stopped responding, tried 2.45, stopped responding, what am I doing wrong? Is my mobo really that sucky? So I think I am going to sweet talk my parents and grandpa into letting my buy a DFI Lanparty, it's only 50 dollars is what I will tell them. Is the mobo I linked any good? Looks good to me, I am an ATi enthusiest, so the crossfire is good for me, but will it work with an nvidia card, because my grandpa's is nvidia and it is sitting in a drawer and the original packaging not being used. Also, will think mobo be a good overclocker and worth the money, or should I just spend my money and get a better one? Thanks guys for all the help

Jacob

Upload a screenshot of CPU-Z Main and memory tabs (you have to launch it twice) Also include a CoreTemp window in the screenshot.

That is actually a good MB, it uses an earler chipset version but can OC well.
Do note is uses PCIe vid cards where as your current set up is AGP.

My Vcore is at 1.36v that was a typo my apologies to the masses!

Heres a pic of my CPU-Z Screen shoot if you need absolute verification ill run the verifier program thing!
