Insert the syringe, or whatever you're using to fill your res and then tip the res (or tip your whole case, if the res is mounted) so that the spot where you're inserting your filling device is at the lowest point of the opening. Once you tip it backward like this, the fluid should drain down through the "bottom" hole allowing air to escape through the "top" hole. Just look at it intuitively -- if the water isn't flowing in as you want it to, you would tip it back to encourage the water to flow through the lowest point in the opening.

The point is that you can't have all 3 (or is it four?) holes in the top covered with water or the liquid won't drain down into the res; one hole has to be open for air to escape.

Come back to the thread guys! wink.gif

I've found in terms of filling up the photon, stick a straw in the hole, and use a squeeze bottle to feed the res water. The water should just keep going. I loved doing maintenance tonight. Everything was so painless. No leaks, the res filled up amazingly and really quickly, re did my loop, looks 20x better. Anyway i just thought I'd chip in. thumb.gif

Nice, that's how I plan to fill my Photon 270 as well. I ordered squeeze bottles in 200 ml, 500 ml and 1000 ml sizes just to cover all bases. The larger bottles will be useful for filling the loop, whereas the smallest bottle should come in handy when topping up the res.

Yeah, I just used an 800ml squeeze bottle with distilled water in it. Your plan sounds good! thumb.gif

So I just bought the 270 pump/res and I have the Corsair Air 540... didnt really think about size until now. What does OCN think about it getting mounting horizontal? Would that be bad for it, this is my first custom loop?

ATX board
240 rad on top
360 rad in front
