I'm sorry, but I am kindof new to this. Will someone please explain why one is better than the other?

7600gt is better, it has more Pixel Pipelines, more Vertex Shaders, and a better clock speed.

Mainly clock speed. Most of OCN buys 7600GT and just OCs it but you can buy one 7600GS and OC the crap out of that too.

EDIT: 7600GT usually packes GDDR3 while 7600GS usually packs GDDR Memory.

Actually, Kopi, its only clock speed thats the difference. It's got the same pipelines and shaders.

The 7900GS is the "budget" card to get as of now. It has the same amount of pipelines as the 7800GT but OC's like mad.

I just want to be able to play BF2 maxed out damnit!

I have 1.5GB Kingston RAM and a freaking nVidia 5200FX <-- LOL!

The RAM is ok for now but will the 7600GS be able to do that?

I will probly get a 7600GT anyways but just incase, I was just wondering.

A 7600GT should play BF2 maxed out yes You might need 2GB of ram for full texture settings though. Not sure, since I don't play BF2

I just came up from an FX5200, so, yeah, the difference is huge.

You might have to OC. Also, if you could be so kind as to fill out your system specs in the User CP which is located on the top of the page. It makes it WAY eaiser for all of us to help you. Also, welcome to the forums!

EDIT: Here's a 7600GT for 78 bucks after rebate on newegg. Have at it!

Damn you mail in rebates! I will probly end up snatching one off eBay

This is just for leisure time, I really need to be saving for a car so I can't spend too much. $100 would be ideal.
