However, I will be looking further into the 7790 and 7850. Thank you all for the help!

a good enough GPU
- it depends on how far are you into gaming and what types of games do you play (fps, strategy etc).

If you are into strategy type, you don't need to get an overly expensive, power hungry & system demanding card, as the most of budget cards will manage to smoothly run those games.
Fps is entirely different story - it is all about graphics and framerate, as you will not enjoy a stuttering shooter, turning your eyes into cubes in a few minutes biggrin.gif

To summarize this - if you want to play fps games on ultra settings and 60+ fps, you should better get more expensive card. If you can tolerate medium-high settings on 60+ fps, 7770 can do the job.
And as always - match card with a processor, so that you didn't loose all that power because of saving a few bucks on cpu. thumb.gif

a good example is battlefield 4. As an FPS game it requires you have a very responsive system if you don;t want to get munched. they are suggesting 3 gig of video memory for it. This is the kind of game that really requires a 7950 or some such. The cheapest card I;d play it with is the 260x. they're ~140$ It's the most improved of the new AMD cards other than the 290x Instead of a simple rebrand they actually added memory and real features.
