[STOCK & UNSTABLE] AMD A10-6800K rig

Thread Starter
Hello my fellow OCN members!

Normally I'm the sort of guy that helps other people out, but I've pretty much lost it here...

I recently build 2 rigs for people that are pretty much obsessed with some facebook game: "Mafiawars".
They needed a cheap rig to run multiple accounts on the game at the same time (They use the Firefox profile method to run multiple clients).

Right now, they are running 5-6 accounts in different Firefox clients, each consuming an average of 1 GB RAM (btw: isn't that A LOT? I know the games are mostly JS & Flash based, but still?)

The 2 rigs are nearly identical:

Rig1:
A10-6800K
FM2A85X Extreme4-M
8 GB Crucial Ballistix (2x4GB)
Radeon 8760D (A10 APU)
Samsung 840 120GB
Corsair VS350

Rig2:
A10-6800K
FM2A75M-DGS
8 GB Crucial Sport (2x4GB)
Radeon 8760D (A10 APU)
Samsung 840 120GB
Corsair VS350

Both systems have freezes: No bluescreen, it just freezes. After reboot I can't find any information about the crash.
My first though was the RAM, but memtest was perfectly stable after many hours.
Second was the IGP, which I ruled out by using a dedicated GPU (IGP disabled) and the crashes still showed up.
3rd was the SSD, which I also ruled out by testing with an other HDD.

Prime95 & furmark also ran for hours without issues...

My only guess left was the PSU? Very uniquely since prime & furmark fun fine.
But then I build the second rig, which ran stable here, but for some reason those people manage to get it crashing...

I'm starting to think that this might be related to the game they play? 5-6 GB of firefox clients is not nothing...? (Which would be great, since I wouldn't be responsible and it won't cost me any more time. - I've invested over 30h in these systems already)

Any advice? :-)

Thanks in advance!

Have you updated the BIOS? It appears that the A10-6800K is only supported on version P1.50 for the first motherboard and P2.30 for the second.

If you still have problems, I know you said memtest ran ok, but perhaps make sure that the memory is on the approved list.

i would say driver/bios problem, otherwise the ultra cheap psu might be the problem.

Hmm... I didn't update the BIOS yet. Will try that!

PSU is cheap, I know... But it does (should) supply the right wattage and volts...

Thx + repped!

I don't think Chrome has the "profile" support in the same way as Firefox. Chrome is also a lot less memory effective...
