Wife messed with DNS

Thread Starter
Hi, I'll try and keep this short.
My wife wanted US netflix on her iPad so she changed the DNS on her iPad, problem is now her iPad is the only thing that can connect to the Internet. I've changed the setting back and reset router and PC but it does nothing at all. I've changed all setting back to automatic on pc, router and iPad and rebooted the lot, still can only use the Internet by using this DNS she used for netflix

I've tried all the ipconfig /flush etc.

Any advice or similar experiences?

Thanks in advance.

Keeping it short doesn't help.

So where did she change the DNS? On the router or on the IPAD?

There isn't any way changing the DNS on her IPad would make your router change.

Run an ipconfig /all on your PC and compare DNS addresses to see if it actually is picking it up correctly from DHCP. If it is not, either set it manually to your PCs DNS or use google or OpenDNS. This could be done on the router if the iPad cant make the change.

OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

GoogleDNS: 8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Hey thanks for replies. She used a website on her iPad called unlocator.com I've logged in and changed the settings back to UK. I don't understand it myself as router settings are ok, pc adapter settings are all set to automatic.

The only thing I don't understand is why I can now only use the internet if I manually change the DNS to the one that website assigned her?
I'll try the open DNS see if that helps

When you say you reset your router, did you just turn it off and on, or did you actually use the reset button and set it back to factory settings?

I used the little red pin hole button to reset it. But I've managed to use the open DNS as suggested above and it's working really well.... So far. I'll find out later if it's any good for me, once I've logged into my Final Fantasy MMO

Off topic... but 14 or 11? And does OCN still have a linkshell? There use to be one, but apparently EVERYONE else quit some time ago, and I'm the new leader... -.- (re-joined about a week ago)
