Building a Steambox, GPU question

I'm looking to build a Steambox once Steam OS is released. My PS3 just died and it seems like the perfect replacement as a living room media player that can also play my steam games. I have a beast of a PC in the office (see sig rig) that I want to use for the Steam OS streaming feature. Does anyone know how this works? Do I need a discrete GPU for the Steambox or can I use onboard since the office PC is doing the heavy lifting. Would it be worthwhile to have a basic ~$150 GPU for any reason? What about memory/storage/etc? Does it just use those resources from the office PC?

Keep in mind that most of my gaming will still be done on the office PC but for stuff I play with the kids the living room is preferable.

I'd like to keep this build under $400 total so the discrete GPU could hamper my plans.

Finally is the Steam controller Bluetooth? I keep all my components in a closet in another room and that seems vital for a wireless controller to have no input lag.

Cannot understand, you want second PCs with steam os to replace PS3? And you have $400 budget?

the gpu isn't your concern.. a 7950 reached 130$ at a Point..
but cpu mobo ram and case.. those would be like 500$ ... i say spend a bit more get a HTIB case... and build a nice rig for your steam box....
