Running a RAD outside?

Thread Starter
I have an extra double RAD I'm not using since I'm not running sli now,
Think if I put it outside with fans running I'd see better temps it gets below -0c outside or is it a waste of time also I would have to run about 10' of line to make it to the window.

You would have to Conformal your board and grease the Socket for sure...Thats a lot of tubing, if you have a real good pump and 1/2" tubing and just a CPU block in your loop it might work..Oh yeah you would need to run something like MCT-40 to keep it from freezing...Try it and see.......Condensation Prevention

Makes sense, as long as you have a strong enoguh pump and enough hose to run it that far n stuff

i've been thinking of doing the same (but for now it's only a tought)

but i think u be better off just having one(two) rad outside as the one inside will actualy heat the water back upp

ps. u will alsow need fan's out there too

have an ide tho strong pump makes noise
solution - make a plexi box and mount the pump/rad's/fan's in it and have it outside
remember snow/leaf's is enemies

You could get condensation if the water gets too cold.

I rebuilt my external WC system into an old HP case with the Bonnie outside the window and the res inside(case is on its side, half in/half out). I'm running straight Distilled water w/tablespoon of Binox antifungal, outside temps have been fairly steady for the past 2 weeks @ -2.7ºC/27ºF.

No condensation proofing applied, just run a 3" flexible duct/tubing to the PC side panel fan. No freezing/condensation has reared its ugly head to this point.
