Visually it just looks more vivid and dark, with a large drop in performance o.0

Different profiles have different approaches. In general it's best to set it up to how you want it to look because the chances of an author setting a profile up exactly how you want it are slim.

Regarding performance there's many quality settings, along with the memory settings, to play with that will improve it without really affecting visual quality drastically. You can easily achieve 60fps plus with a bit of tinkering.

After weeks of modding and tweaking Skyrim , my 2cents.gif

1: Please don't use news-site's guides, they're outdated, often uninformed, and skip over the very best skyrim mods. Some recommend dangerous or unecessarily heavy mods like Wet & Cold, headtracking, Civil War etc. Others recommend old mods (WATER, Sos), when completely superior alternatives (realistic water two, AOS) exist.

2: Follow STEP for Skyrim, make sure you're stable, then get some GEMS mods. Use Enboost if you're unstable, DON'T use any ENB otherwise. Realistic lighting overhaul + Climates of tamriel improve the lighting at the game level, making an ENB completely unnecessary. Force tripple buffering and adaptive V-sync, follow STEP's suggested INI tweak along with standard papyrus INI tweaks.

A few mods I can't live without: Realistic Lighting Overhaul, Audio Overhaul for Skyrim, Frostfall, Inigo, Smart Cast, Interesting/Inconsequential NPCs, ACE, ASIS, DEOS, Realistic Water Two, Forgotten Magic, Apocalypse spell package, XCE, SMF if you want more than 1 follower. Here's my mostly complete list if you need inspiration biggrin.gif

Use this to reduce VRAM usage

FYI with those mods, I'm at the brink of stability. Even though I can hold 110 FPS, adding alot more textures and more scripted mods makes the game engine unhappy, no matter what rig you have.
