Would this fit FM2 also? I read somewhere that they're kind of all the same but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for taking time to read this. smile.gif

FM2 is the same as AM3 in regards to heatsink mounting. Most of the newer motherboards have a two piece bracket though that doesn't go around the right and left sides. I'm not sure what motherboard you're using, but I would imagine it will fit fine as there shouldn't be any components that close to the socket anyway. The newer revision on the mounting brackets is probably just to save money by using less plastic.

That oem motherboard is very odd shaped. That's not standard. The holes are off, and those caps are way too close for that bracket to fit. I wouldn't think that it's going to work for you. Sorry.

Ok thanks for the help, do you have any suggestions on one that might work?
Unfortunately, no. The capacitors are directly between the mounting holes. It's very annoying when companies go out of their way to make something that you cannot upgrade.
