Corsair 900D Question

Noticed these cases have room in the front to mount a rad and fans except I see the front has a plate and no way for fresh air to enter. Was wondering how this works if you have a radiator in the front only warm air from inside the case is being pulled through and it did not seem efficient.

There plate is lifted in front of the radiator, allowing air to go through the slits along the sides.

ok so any idea how big these slits are or if its just like a miniscule amount of fresh air being pulled tongue.gif

I have a HAF-X and I wont lie its not the best case but its awesome, and it allows me to run dual rads and have a nice intake outtake on both rads +fans

my side back and front are intake and I have top exhaust and top front exhaust where the dual bay drives are for rads

The plate is lifted pretty far off the chassis with plenty of room for air IMO. With my stock fans in the front I can feel them pulling in the air with my hand.

Most of the cases in the Corsair Obsidian line have this solid front panel. I think the brushed aluminum really stands out. From a cooling point of view, there are slits between the front panel and the actual sides of the case, and that is where the fresh air gets sucked in through. A decent amount of air gets in, and the fact that the fans are not that exposed also helps in keeping the system quieter. I own a 550D, please contact me if you have any other questions.

By the way, Corsair makes great cases, you'll have a hell of a time building in one of these (:

thanks for the help guys smile.gif I appreciate it

any of you have any build logs that you can link showing the PSU placement? I've been trying to find myself but am a bit worried about mounting rads at the bottom and having the PSU pulling with the rads pulling as well, not sure how much space is on the back to place the PSU fan facing chassis

My question is, doesn't having a PSU sucking air in with radiators blowing air out of the case cause a restriction in the air flow at the bottom?

The PSU can be mounted the other way, so that it gets fresh air.
Also, awesome rig.
