Better to ask forgiveness than permission, because with forgiveness comes weeks of controversy and free press, am I right?

This is rather a disgusting abuse of privileges, even if you gave them clear permission to tweet for you (which since they won't disclose the ToS they probably didn't, burying it under 5 layers of legalize), they still shouldn't be trying to make tweeny real tweets for you which are damaging to your reputation as a journalist.
