do you mean the kind of 3 fan cooler my card comes with?

or like a water cooler?

i dont have any after market coolers on my rig

been told running what im running i should be ok?

although i noticed some coil whine from my CPU today

does coil whine just happen at high loads or just at anytime?

as ive been monitoring temps on my PC at stock and they have been lucky to hit 50c

today all i was doing was playing music and i noticed the coil whine inbetween songs.

is coil whine bad or just an annoyance that people dont like?

my PC is usually up quiet loud so cant see it being a problem if its just an annoyance

coil whine usually comes from the psu or the gpu. Usually only happens during heavy loads as far as i know. Might be a fan problem.

Aftermarket meaning non-reference (not original) which if you have a 3 fan cooler you will be able to OC it no problem. most likely if it came with 3 fans and its like a giga windforce or something its probably already overclocked a little bit. Im sure it can be pushed much further though look what my 7870 did:

most people end up around 1225 clock /1350 mem ish depending if you have ability to change voltage and how well your card stays cool. lots of factors involved

yeh its the gigabyte 7870 OC not sure about windforce version but it has 3 fans.

this was the first i have heard coil whine and it must be my CPU

as my GPU has been sitting in a box for 1 too 2 weeks as i was getting money for and now waiting for my PSU getting delivered.

but like i said i was only playing music getting ready to go out and between songs i heard it ( basicaly my CPU was idleing )

is there a way to check if its a fan problem?

im not to sure about benchmark scores but that looks good, although i noticed your running 8 cores lol

im never going to match anything like that

the AMD CPUs are looking like a good way to go for me but at present

i have an ivy bridge MOBO so will be sticking to intel just for that reason lol,

anyway back OP lol

my new CPU should be here in the morning so hopefully be know alot more about what she can do then biggrin.gif
