How to delete the recycle bin icon from desktop?

Thread Starter
I have a HTPC and my TV screen has a nice background I like but that damn recycle bin icon bugs me. I don't like any icons on that screen. What makes Microsoft think that everybody needs that icon showing on the desktop? I'm running Windows 7 Home 64bit.

Press start button search for "desktop icons" then click show or hide icons, un check recycle bin, apply, then ok.

Alternatively you could:
Right Click on Desktop -> Personalize -> Change Desktop Icons

If you want it super clean you could just uncheck:
Right Click on Desktop -> View -> Show Desktop Icons
