Can I run that memory and get the 6300 and still hit 3.0 or should I get the corsair and run the 6400 ?
That ram is fine.

It should be able to hit 3.0 on the 6300, however that is mainly based on the chip itself not just the ram, the ram should not be holding it back though

i just built a 6300 system, i would recommend the thermaltake big typhoon ( it keeps the temps in the mid 50's) even when running a 460*7 fsb, for the ram i used this g.skill, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231088 and i have the timings set to 5,5,5,15 and +.2V on the vdimm and the system is running great. i also had to raise the vcore to 1.375 and +.1v on the fsb to get everything perfectly stable. other than that its been working great, check out my build log if you want to take a look, and also when you plug in your hard drive use the yellow stata (intel) rather than the purple (jmicron) because i just did the switch and my burst speed went from 183mb/s to 257mb/s. also think about a zalman northbridge cooler ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118014 ) its well worth it, also think about adding a small fan to the south bridge, the sucker gets a little hot, i think a 30mm fan is what you could use. hope this helps you on your build.

I have a e6300 w/ a thermalright 128 cooling it.W/Panaflo 120mm fan

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835109129

2 gigs of crucial Ballistix

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820148047

and this MB

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131045

and do not forget a good case w/ good ventilation.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112024

with this set up I have it clocked at 3300 with plenty of room.
My Idle Temps are 37/38 and load is 39/41 after 1 plus hours of BF 2142 or NFS Carbon.
If $$$ is a issue

go w/ everyones suggestion of the Arctic Freezer pro

This Ram is good for the money: 1 gig stick now

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231063

For the MB, I would have to recommend spending alittle more for the
ASUSP5B Dluxe
