Help Me Find A High Amp Charger.

Thread Starter
My phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace II) (Android 4.1.2) is taking an awful long time to charge because of the new OS, and sometimes refuses to charge. I have a 1A charger that came with the phone, when let to charge, it is losing 170mA, so its effectively discharging.

The only way of charging is, to use the AI Charger+ on my ASUS Motherboard to pump 1.75A through the USB 3 ports, I don't mind doing this, but its the only place I can charge the damn phone mad.gif

I want to buy a 5 Ampere USB Charger, so it plugs into the mains (UK) and has a USB port which I then connect my MicroUSB cable.

Could somebody find me one of those? Im having trouble finding them see smile.gif

I would think 5 amps is a lot for that battery and would make it's lifespan shorter. I wonder if you're battery is dieing so it's needing more for it to charge.

Its slowly going back to normal, and the phone will only draw what it needs

Late answer but anyway. Even though you would hook your phone to a charger that can output 5A, it's up to the phone to decide at what current does it charge at.
My Galaxy Note came with 1A charger. I regularly use a Nokia microUSB charger that can output 1.2A. What current does my phone charge at? 1A..

The native Galaxy s4 charger is a 2amp charger. I've even seen cheap chargers being advertised for 2 amps.

I doubt it's the OS that's causing it... Sounds like your battery might just be dying...

The reason the S4 has a 2amp charger is because of it's huge battery...

Lastly, I don't really know how the guy above me calculated the amount of amps his phone is charging at... It's to my knowledge (could be wrong) that the battery itself can only be charged so fast (or else it would fry) so it limits how fast it can charge..

Like I said I could be completely wrong, I'm not 100% percent sure.

Output amperage is found in a fee apps that have to do with over clocking and undervolting.

The S4 charger is a 2A (quick) charger, but as said before, your battery's smart circuit decides what juice is available to it. My S4 charges slowly on my Nexus S' charger, but my Nexus S (and my kids Galaxy Players) won't even charge properly on the S4 charger... It says it's full far before it actually is.
