Steam OS seems to be going with Nvidia because it is in their Steambox prototypes, what does that mean for AMD's Mantle? Can a properly equipped PC get the benefits of Mantle when running Steam OS?

I wouldn't read much into that since Valve said it would also include AMD and the Intel/Nvidia only pairing was just for the prototypes.

I personally expect Mantle to just be like PhysX - neat for a couple games but irrelevant overall.
