The problem i'm having is that when i got the directory in apache that i have the web files being uploaded to i'm getting a "403 forbidden, you don't have permission to access...." So my problem i think is the permission of that folder that the files are being dumped into, also apache is being run under a different user then the one uploading through ftp. Hope it all makes sense.
So you're trying to view your stats HFM spits out in html format via a web server? You could just have HFM create the web page in the public dropbox folder to view them that way. A lot less complicated. Unless you don't want to use the dropbox url and/or would rather host it yourself

Yup that is what's happening.

Ah, not sure then, probably something with your apache permissions.  I'd try a ubuntu forum for that one if you used the default ubuntu installer.  Or do what ZDngfld suggested and just use Droxbox.  I have access to a FTP site, and could probably make you a login if you want to host your HFM on it, PM me if you want to try that, the URL is tclivestats.com

I figured it had something to do with the permissions in apache but figured i'd ask here. Thanks for the offer but like i said below i'd only use it for foldathons.

I could use that but it's only for foldathons i'd be using it since i can't fold 24/7 anymore. I'm already hosting some sites myself, most are lan only.

Edit: Could probably just set up a new virtualhost in apache also rolleyes.gif

Or reverse the direction of FTP? i.e. pull the data from an FTP server on the Linux machine instead of trying to upload it to the Windows VM. Or am I confused as to how you've got things setup?

EDIT: You can also use dbox to sync the files without using the dbox URL to host, since you can define any folders to be monitored. A bit roundabout and redundant but it could be done.

You just got it backwards, hfmnet -> ftp -> ubuntu running apache server. Can windows server 2012 run an ftp server, must be able to.

Edit: Looks like i got it now, just need to wait for hfmnet to upload files again. My issue seemed to be that in the config file for vsftpd i needed to uncomment "local_umask=022".

Yeah. Install IIS and you could just get rid of the whole Ubuntu side of things. Have HFM throw the stats into your IIS htdocs folder and call it good

https://filezilla-project.org/

I've run it under Win Server 2008 so I can remotely tinker with my WAMP setup. Just have to add specific firewall exception on port 21 and setup users etc. I love filezilla, but I'm pretty familiar with it since I have been using it as my go-to FTP server for years.

Thanks but it seems to be working now, can I get it to show time left on a WU? I wanted it on there because I have a web page linking to different local web pages on there (XBMC, transmission, phpsysinfo, subsonic, virtual box) so it'd be more convient for me. Most of it is just for me to mess around with websites.

Edit: didn't notice the summary page.

By default it should show renaming time in hours, minutes, seconds under the ETA column.  I changed mine to show a time / date.
