Recovering pictures from MicroSD card

Thread Starter
I badly need to recover some photos from a MicroSD card that went bad in my Galaxy S3. I have most the pictures backed up on my computer already, but I have a bunch from a recent job and of a large sign that my father made that I dont have backed up. I need copies of these photos because I am getting a bunch of requests for the for possible future jobs(have other things I would like to recover but these are crucial). I tried Find and Mount, Getmydataback, and loaded it into different phones but none will read it. It is not even showing up on any device.

I made an image of the drive but it is 0kb, and I dont know what to do anymore...

Can someone please help me??

Hi, I'm no expert but it seems your card has been converted to a RAW format. Try a free program called Recuva:

Thanks for the recommendation, but it wont let me scan drive H, which is where my SD adapter is plugged in. I tested the adapter and it worked fine with other cards, and it came with this same card that is giving me issues.

Otherwise looks like a very handy program.

Congrats on your first rep thumb.gif

EDIT: still need help on this though.

What do you see in Windows Explorer when you try to access the MicroSD card from a card reader in your computer?  There may be some hope if it doesn't say "Please insert disk."

redface.gif  I've also had problems with micro-SD cards.  Frequently, when I plug one of them in, the light comes on on the SD card reader, but the computer shows no recognition of a card being inserted.  I usually can get them to read by plugging them in again and again.  For instance, when they don't work, the LED on the card reader simply lights up when the card is plugged in, and goes out when the card is unplugged.  When it works, the LED lights up and then flickers, and then Explorer's auto-play dialog comes up.  So, I'll plug the card in, give it a second for the card reader's LED to flicker, and if it doesn't, I'll unplug it and repeat up to a couple dozen times or until it does flicker.

I don't know whether this will help or not, but it is worth trying. thumb.gif
