Using Win7 I was dipping into the high 70's all the time (min FPS) when playing on this map (64 player conquest MP). Upgrading to Win 8.1, everything else being equal, even the server I'm connecting to, it never goes below 90. That is just one instance, but I think it gives an idea of what to expect if upgrading.

I am always most concerned with Minimum FPS in any game, but that's just me. thumb.gif

I would love to know what settings you're using. We have essentially the same system and I routinely dip into the 70's on Siege. When the building falls and I'm going across that bridge in a tank...boom...instadip.

1920x1080
Ultra details
NO MSAA
NO MOTION BLUR
NO AMBIENT OCCLUSION

I suggest turning post processes to low that effects ur FPS by around 10-25ish

We don't really have the same system; I have 8 threads (3770K), you have 4. wink.gif Is your 780 running at 1202 MHz while gaming?

I basically run Ultra settings, no MSAA, FXAA medium, no motion blur, HBAO on. Also, my OS is highly optimized, no anti-virus or Defender, lots of services disabled, etc.

Are you running the latest nVidia driver?

Most likely this is due to BF4 taking advantage of the hyperthreading. It's known to run better with HT enabled CPUs.

Would you be willing to disable HT and see if you get less performance? Specifically I am seeing very low GPU usage.

Already tried it, there is a post earlier in this thread somewhere. GPU usage does indeed go down, as do GPU temps, at the same clock speed. There is no question that HT is good for BF4. thumb.gif

So after all this argues, researches and benches, can somebody FINALIZE the best setting to stick with on 7 and 8. HT/noHT unpark/park etc...
Thanks to ALL who worked And spent their time to figure right things out!!!
(Only thing I've done(nothing) unparking, brought some extra fps. Personally I don't feel stuttering or what they call, BUT what I feel and don't like is when fps drops when "mist or fog "effect gets rendered on some maps.)

I think ideally, 8 (or 8.1) with HT and core parking disabled

That's for the absolute best performance. To me, it seems more practical to buy a better GPU than spend the 100 or whatever win8 costs than to upgrade to win8. 5% maybe 10% max for whatever windows costs or sell your current gpu, use the money that you were going to spend on win8 and maybe a little more ans get much, much more performance.
