To begin.

My friend spilled a droplet of water on his graphic card while the PC powered. When he tried to restart it the next day there was no display, just a loud graphic card fan running.

-I've taken apart the PC and placed the motherboard on a cardboard box and attempted to turn it on with just the CPU installed, no go, just a high pitched buzz from the motherboard fan, no boot code or anything.

-I took out the CPU and attempted to turn the motherboard on, success I can now see a boot code "FF" on my motherboard.

-I've purchased a new graphic card and that still does not work.

Do you think the CPU was fried somehow? All the lights on my motherboard turn on which appears to me that it works.
