Those are obvious problems a common user can see, let alone a good QA team or they were useless enough to assume "only experts will care". It's nothing new really. AMD cards have always had the stuttering issue, poor driver support, and bad inititial releases. I'm not what I'd consider a fanboy towards Intel or Nvidia, however I tend to prefer to pay more for quality and support over high numbers but poor overall performance.
I'm still watching the R9 290's closely. But if they cannot resolve whatever issue is delaying the release I may jump to a 780 setup. Nvidia has just been so stable over the years with drivers and support, that even if they provide 5% less performance I'd take the hit.
