Also just because its a corsair or seasonic, doesn't mean its a good PSU. Corsair doesn't even make their PSU's and their cheap stuff is just simply crap. Seasonic does make their own stuff, but their lower end is also kinda meh. The Seasonic S12II / XFX Core Pro is good enough but honestly, there is no real point for OP to change the PSU out ATM.
I immediately assume you never heard of diablotek power supplies.
Nonetheless, those two companies I named were clearly under my own experiences.
So now we have to wait and see if OP's power supply is complete garbage or not, assuming we don't ask him any details about it and do not care about that either.
My own opinion, OP, check the brand and model of your PSU, and then post it here. After that I'll be able to tell you exactly what to do with your cash, unlike others that assume that because a PSU is labeled 680w it can deliver such wattage.
EDIT : The rig is powering a 4870, which is what 3-4 years old ? "Because it doesn't matter" isn't right.Edited by Abs.exe - 11/19/13 at 10:50am
