That's information that doesn't need to crawl off the hard drive later!
HOWEVER, 6Gb is a odd amount of RAM to be used. I MIGHT get that much during a large BF3 match and other crap in the background.
6GB utilization without anything running leads me to think that there's a leak somewhere or a possible virus.
Take a screenshot where you're seeing this high usage.
2-3gb usage while Idle is completely normal.
