Possibly but probably not. Reason being DF is BUSY using a 6950 OP reference card which uses a blower fan pushing air though cooler and exhausting out the back.

If the 6950 is not a reference card than back intake might work. Depends on where case is setting.

I still think that the air from the rear will be cooler even if the GPU expels the heat to the rear. The are is much larger than inside the case where stale/hot air might accumulate (especially on the higher part of the case).

The OP might also turn the CPU cooler 90*, setup the CPU fans to blow downwards and reverse the top fans to intake. This way the CPU cooler gets fresh air from the top, and the top of the GPU gets cooled down by the air and pressure coming from the CPU cooler.

The area is not the issue, how the airflow moves is. Cases generally set with their back a few cm from a wall.. meaning heated air blowing out the back is forced in 3 directions (can't go down because floor blocks it), one of them being up toward the back exhaust... and that's only if side are not also blocked by side of desk and/or wall.

Turning cooler to blow down from top generally does not work well either. OP can try these suggestions. Air is a fickled witch and can do so very unexpected things. wink.gif

Just out of curiosity, which fans are you using?

w/3x TY-140 case intake fans; all PWM controlled by CPU fan socket
